Kemba Walker has big plans for the NBA's championship series.

The Hornets on Monday announced the star guard will visit Tokyo to celebrate the NBA Finals with fans in Japan.

Walker is scheduled to attend a public viewing party May 31 for fans hosted by Rakuten TV that will feature a delayed showing of Game 1 at the Shibuya Stream Hall. The Finals begin May 30.

"Basketball is in a great place in Japan, and I’m excited to visit the country to witness the growth of the game firsthand and enjoy the NBA Finals with Japanese fans," Walker said in a release.  "I can’t wait to see everything the country has to offer and take in as much of its rich culture as I can."

Walker, who turned 29 this month, was selected ninth overall by Charlotte in the 2011 draft but is set to become an unrestricted free agent July 1. While he has expressed his desire to stay put, he has also explained that the Hornets will have to prove to him that they have the ability to build sufficient talent around him.

"I want to win; I want to win," Walker told reporters during his exit interview last month, via the Charlotte Observer. "That's something that I'm going to have to really sit down and think about with my family, with my agent, with the people closest to me in my life that will help me make that decision."

The three-time All-Star is coming off a season in which he averaged a career-high 25.6 points as he played in all 82 games for just the second time in his career.
