The Timberwolves saga continues, and it still involves the Heat.

After reports surfaced that Miami president Pat Riley had used profanity in trade negotiations with Minnesota, he issued a statement denying the allegations.

Riley said that all conversations "have been nothing but cordial."

The statement, released through the Heat's media relations department, came shortly after coach Erik Spoelstra gave his own address to the media.

"As to what has been reported in the past 24 hours, I have too much respect for Tom Thibodeau and all that he’s accomplished in this league," Riley said of the Timberwolves coach and president of basketball operations, via the Sun-Sentinel. "Our conversations have been nothing but cordial and I have never used that kind of language in negotiations, but I do admit to telling Danny Ainge to …"

Riley's statement ended with that ellipsis, an apparent reference to a spat years ago with Celtics GM Ainge.

The Sun-Sentinel also reported the Heat, according to a source familiar with the dealings, "are not trying to re-engage" in Jimmy Butler trade talks.
