Giannis Antetokounmpo turned down role in 'Space Jam 2'

Another one bites the dust.

Amid LeBron James' rumored struggles to recruit players to Looney Tune Land, ESPN reported Tuesday that Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo turned down a role in "Space Jam 2" after being approached about starring in the movie.

The report noted Antetokounmpo would be required to "give up two weeks of private workouts to train with his fellow stars" while filming, which he declined to do.

"I don't like being Hollywood," Antetokounmpo said. "I don't like all this extra drama. I am just going to try to be me."

James is following in the footsteps of Michael Jordan in more ways than one after getting the green light to move forward with the "Space Jam" sequel. Yet, he's having a hard time pulling the same star power as Jordan, who had Hall of Famers Larry Bird, Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing in the original 1996 film.

While players are eager to work with James, it had been reported the pay simply isn't enough to entice top players in the NBA, especially with so many unwilling to give up training time.
