Former president George H.W. Bush remains in a Houston hospital battling an infection, but he isn't letting that distract him from the NBA playoffs.

That was the message from Bush's spokesman Wednesday, as he released a statement saying the 93-year-old had been moved from the intensive care unit to a regular patient room.

"President Bush naturally thanks everyone for their prayers and good wishes," the statement read in part. "He also wants to assure everyone that, as good as he feels now, he is more focused on the Houston Rockets closing out their playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves than anything that landed him in the hospital."

Bush was hospitalized Sunday morning, a day after attending funeral services for his wife, Barbara, who died April 17.

A lifelong sports fan and former Yale first baseman, Bush obviously is invested in his adopted hometown's NBA team. The Rockets are up 3-1 in their series against the Timberwolves, with Game 5 set for Wednesday evening in Houston.
