Jabari Parker finally got the chance to talk Saturday about Jim Boylen's decision to take him out of the Bulls' rotation, and he didn't hold anything back.

"At that point, we never had controversy, always had my back," Parker said, via the Chicago Tribune. "The things we had in-house problems with, I always had his back. To see that relationship go sour, not from my end but from his, was just bad because you trust a guy."

Parker signed a two-year, $40 million contract with the Bulls before the season and worked his way into the starting lineup a couple of weeks into the season. He got the nod in the rotation for the next 17 games before Fred Hoiberg was fired Dec. 3.

When Boylen took over as head coach, Parker never started again and was a healthy scratch in 12 of 13 games from Dec. 15 to Jan. 11 despite the fact he was averaging 16.6 points in 24 appearances on the season and 16.9 points since being inserted into the starting lineup.

“I think it’s hard to play three power forwards,” Boylen said at the time, via the Tribune. “So he played some minutes at small forward and we didn’t think that was the way to go the rest of the game. This team is not about one person, one matchup, one situation. It’s about the team. And you play your minutes when you’re in there. When you’re not, we hope you support the other guys that are."

Parker was traded to the Wizards on Wednesday along with Bobby Portis. He scored seven points while adding 11 rebounds and nine assists in his first game with Washington.

The Bulls and Wizards face off at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday.
