Greg Ianni is expected to become the interim athletic director of Michigan State, according to multiple reports.

Ianni is likely to fill the position after Mark Hollis announced his retirement last week. He worked under Hollis as the athletic department's deputy athletic director running the department's day-to-day operations. He has been a member of the athletic department since 1993.

While an official announcement hasn't been made yet, administration sources confirmed the plans to the Detroit Free Press on Wednesday, which is the day Hollis' retirement went into effect.

Hollis stepped down in the midst of former Michigan State doctor Larry Nassar's sentencing, joining the university's president Lou Anna Simon, who announced her resignation from Michigan State a few days prior.
