Heat guard Dion Watiers underwent season-ending ankle surgery, the team announced Tuesday.

Last week it was decided Waiters would go under the knife to fix the recurring issue with his ankle.

The 26-year-old guard has been out since Dec. 22 and has missed 13 games as a result.

He was averaging 14.3 points, 3.8 assists and 2.6 rebounds prior to going out of the lineup.

The Heat signed Waiters to a four-year, $52 million deal prior to the season.
