DeMarcus Cousins opened up about Anthony Davis' situation with his former team, the Pelicans.

The two played together for two seasons in New Orleans, but Cousins left in free agency last summer and signed a one-year deal with the Warriors after he reportedly didn't receive any other offers.

Cousins revealed earlier this week he knew Davis would request a trade, based on his own falling out with the franchise.

"Yes. As soon as all that goofy junk went down (with me), I knew exactly what was going to happen," Cousins said during an appearance on Chris Haynes' podcast "Posted Up. "Of course I knew. I talked with Anthony. Like, duh. Duh. It was just a matter of time for y'all (the media) to find out."

When asked if he thought Davis' situation with the Pelicans would have gone smoother if the Pelicans had treated Cousins better, the 28-year-old center shrugged it off and said: "Don't even matter no more."

Cousins also explained he thought the writing was on the wall when Davis signed with Klutch Sports to work with agent Rich Paul, who represents a number of NBA stars, including LeBron James, Ben Simmons and Draymond Green.

"AD made his power move when he joined Klutch. If y'all can't read between the lines with that then y'all just blind," Cousins said.

Davis requested a trade from the Pelicans at the end of January but did not get moved before the trade deadline in early February. The Lakers and Pelicans reportedly had been in talks, but the deal fell a part because Los Angeles wasn't willing to match New Orleans' demands.
