Amid reports he is being traded to the Detroit Pistons, it appears Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin was as surprised as anyone.

According to ESPN, the Clippers have agreed to send the star power forward to the Pistons for Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley, Boban Marjanovic, a first-round and a second-round draft pick.

The Clippers are including Brice Johnson and Willie Reed in the trade.

That may have come as a surprise even to Griffin, who expressed his shock in a tweet after the news broke on Monday.

Detroit placed Bradley on the trading block on Monday after acquiring the former Boston star in July for Marcus Morris. Bradley has struggled with his shot and staying on the court this season.

Griffin, 28, is averaging 22.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per game this season. Griffin had signed a five-year, $171million deal this offseason, and is set to make over $31m a year from 2018-19 to 2021-22.

Stanley Johnson will now likely start at small forward for the Pistons, with Griffin and Andre Drummond teaming up to create a powerful frontcourt.

The trade could also mean more minutes for rookie Luke Kennard. The Pistons selected him in the first round of last year's NBA Draft, but he has found playing time hard to come by this season.
