Cavs dealt third successive loss by Bulls, Spurs pip Wizards

Reigning NBA champions the Cleveland Cavaliers and their slump continued against the Chicago Bulls, while the San Antonio Spurs beat the Washington Wizards on the buzzer.

The Cavaliers suffered their third consecutive loss, upstaged 111-105 by the Bulls in Chicago on Friday.

Kawhi Leonard's buzzer-beater saw the Spurs past the Wizards 107-105.

The Los Angeles Clippers backed up their win over the Cavaliers, downing the New Orleans Pelicans 114-96.

NIGHT TO FORGET FOR LEBRON

If rocking up to the United Center dressed in the Chicago Cubs' full team gear after losing a World Series bet to Wade was not bad enough, it got worse for James.

Despite scoring 27 points, James and the Cavs matched their longest losing streak of the season.

Wade posted 24 points for the Bulls, who were led by Jimmy Butler's 26.

LEONARD LIFTS SPURS

As has been the case so often this season, Leonard was the game-winner for the Spurs.

Leonard hit a jump-shot with six seconds remaining as the Spurs extended their winning streak at home to the Wizards to 17 games.

He finished with 23 points, while LaMarcus Aldridge added 19 points.

John Wall (17 points) had just tied the contest seconds earlier.

GRIFFIN AND PAUL INSPIRE CLIPPERS

The high-flying Clippers had Blake Griffin and Chris Paul to thank on Friday.

Griffin recorded a double-double thanks to 27 points and 10 rebounds, while team-mate Paul had 17 points and 13 assists.

Despite hurting his shoulder, Anthony Davis put up 21 points for the Pelicans.

LEONARD COMES UP CLUTCH

RAPTORS EXTEND STREAK

Kyle Lowry led the way with 24 points as the Raptors accounted for the Los Angeles Lakers 113-80 - their fifth consecutive victory.

The New York Knicks overcame the Minnesota Timberwolves 118-114, the Detroit Pistons were too good for the Atlanta Hawks 121-85, the Boston Celtics defeated the Sacramento Kings 97-92, the Orlando Magic beat the Philadelphia 76ers 105-88, while the Houston Rockets trumped the Denver Nuggets 128-110.

BULLS GO AGAIN

After upstaging the Cavs, the Bulls are at the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday. The Golden State Warriors face the Phoenix Suns, while the Hawks are in action against the Raptors.
