In the wake of LeBron James' exit, Cleveland will keep a piece of its championship squad.

The Cavaliers have signed free-agent forward Channing Frye to a one-year deal, the team announced Thursday.

While financial details were not disclosed, Yahoo Sports reported the deal is worth $2.4 million.

A veteran of 12 NBA seasons, Frye played 2Ā½ seasons for the Cavs, including 2015-16 when Cleveland ralliedĀ from a 3-1 deficit to defeat the Warriors in the NBA Finals.

Frye started last season with the Cavs but was sent to the Lakers in February at the trade deadline along with Isaiah Thomas and a 2018 draft pick for Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr.

Frye, 35, has averaged 9.0 points and 4.6 rebounds in his NBA career.
