Kay Felder was briefly traded to the Hawks from the Cavaliers last week before being released and claimed off waivers by the Bulls.

Felder, a former college star at Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., stands just 5 foot 9 inches tall. His lack of stature is reminiscent of another short NBA star — Isaiah Thomas.

While the two diminutive point guards were briefly teammates in Cleveland, Felder compared himself to Thomas, who will miss the beginning of the season with a hip injury.

"I feel like we're the same player, honestly," Felder said, via The Chicago Tribune. "I can take a lot from his game, just the hard work he put in."

Thomas, also 5-9, was a second-round pick by the Kings in 2011. Thomas has never averaged less than 11.5 points per game in a season, but his career has only recently blossomed into stardom.

Felder, who averaged 4.0 points per game last year as a rookie second-round pick, believes he can find success in Chicago.

"I'm an aggressive point guard who will push the ball, look for guys and try to make everything as easy as possible to help us win," Felder said. "I like my pullup (jumper) a lot. I like to get to the rim. I've been working on my 3-ball a lot and it's been getting better. So just trying to improve all the way around."
