Brandon Ingram will be playing a new position.
The Lakers are set to move Ingram to point guard when they host the Warriors on Monday, coach Luke Walton told reporters pregame. Los Angeles is without Lonzo Ball, who is expected to miss four to six weeks after he sprained his ankle Saturday.
Los Angeles will replace Ball in the starting lineup with either Josh Hart or Svi Mykhailiuk, Walton said.
Luke Walton: “Brandon is going to be our starting point.” Said there’s been some discussion, and no decision yet, about the rest of the group. KCP, Kuzma and Chandler will remain in. They could start Hart, or course, while Walton said Svi Mykhailiuk was “in the discussion.”

LeBron James (groin) and Rajon Rondo (hand) also remain sidelined, although both have been cleared to return to practice. The pair hasn’t played since Dec. 25 and the team has registered a 5-8 record in their absence.
Ingram is averaging a career-high 16.3 points along with 4.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game this season. He’s shooting 46.6 percent from the field and 29.7 percent from 3-point range.
The Lakers will enter their game against the Warriors on Monday in ninth place of the Western Conference with a 25-22 record.
