Andrew Bogut will be returning to the Golden State Warriors sooner than expected.
The 34-year-old center was originally planning to make his season debut for Golden State later this week.
However, because DeMarcus Cousins is dealing with a sore right foot, Bogut will now play in the Warriors' matchup with the San Antonio Spurs on Monday.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr told reporters during shootaround he was unsure how many minutes Bogut would receive against San Antonio.
"I'm going to play him," Kerr said. "He's not playing 35 [minutes], but more than five."
Bogut, who had been playing in Australia, was previously with Golden State from 2012-16 and helped them win the 2015 NBA Finals.
He re-signed with the Warriors on a one-year contract this month.
"It just helps dramatically that we've been here before. We're basically running the same stuff that we ran when he was here," Kerr said. "He knows half of our team.
“As far as him fitting in, there's zero adjustment period. He's a brilliant basketball player in terms of his mind and his feel."
The Warriors will enter their game against the Spurs atop the Western Conference with a 47-21 record.
