Oklahoma City Thunder forward Carmelo Anthony has no interest in coming off the bench next season.
Since the Thunder were thumped in six games by the Utah Jazz in the first round of the NBA playoffs, Anthony's dissatisfaction with his role in his first season with the team has become even more apparent.
During his exit interview on Saturday, Anthony said: "It wasn't no strategy to me being here, me being a part of the actual system and what type of player and things like that.
"I don't think I can be effective as that type of player. "
If the Thunder want him coming off the bench, they better think again. Anthony is having none of that.
When asked if he would consider coming off the bench, Anthony said: "I'm not sacrificing no bench role. So that's out of the question."
Anthony has started all 1,054 games in his NBA career, which began in 2003 in Denver.
And despite his age (33) and the fact he is coming off his worst season statistically (16.2 points per game), Anthony does not appear ready to step aside.
