The Pelicans appear to be looking at some new trade scenarios for Anthony Davis.
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, who cited unidentified league sources, Pelicans executive vice president of basketball operations David Griffin has started to provide prospective partners with the outline of the package the team wants in a trade for the veteran.
The report noted the framework includes multi-team scenarios that would benefit the Pelicans' position, adding that the Lakers, Clippers, Knicks and Nets are among the teams that have reached out regarding Davis.
Rich Paul, Davis' agent, told ESPN during the regular season that his client would not re-sign with the Pelicans when his contract ran out with the team after the 2020 season and he would prefer to be traded.
It was rumored that Davis wanted to be dealt to the Lakers, but the Celtics, Bucks and several other teams have shown interest, as well.
After the season ended, however, Pelicans owner Gayle Benson said the team would trade Davis to the Lakers "over my dead body."
The teams rumored to be Davis' preferred destination include the Lakers, Knicks, Bucks and Clippers.
Davis, 26, averaged 25.9 points and 12 rebounds in 56 games last season. New Orleans finished with a 33-49 record and missed the playoffs for the third time in four seasons.
