Anthony Davis returned from a nine-game absence Friday to lead the Pelicans to their second straight win.

The five-time All-Star scored 32 points and added nine rebounds in 25 minutes as he played in his first game since fracturing his finger in January.

He did not play in the entirety of the fourth quarter in the 122-117 win.

"I was not going to have him first game back play 38, 40 minutes," coach Alvin Gentry told reporters after the game. "We had talked about playing 22, 25 minutes, so that's why he didn't go back in the game and I thought he played well."

This was also Davis' first game back since his agent Rich Paul told ESPN the 25-year-old would not sign a contract extension with the club when he becomes a free agent after the 2020 season and he would prefer to be traded.

Davis was met with mixed reactions on the night as he was booed in pre-game introductions but cheered when he made shots on the floor.

"It's not the first time he's been booed guys," Gentry said. "He's been booed before, so I think in his case all he's going to do is play, you know, and fans are fans, this is a loyal city, it's a very loyal city, it doesn't take long for you to realize that and they have a right to do what they want to do."
