Tuesday's NBA slate brings one of the most anticipated matchups of the season, and it doesn't involve the Warriors or Lakers.
Jimmy Butler is set to take on his former team for the first time since he was traded from the Timberwolves to the 76ers in November.
Butler asked to be moved out of Minnesota in mid-September and the team finally honored his request two months later. Before the trade, however, there were reports of Butler being at odds with management as well as some of the young players, including Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins.
When asked by Kevin Garnett on TNT’s KG Area 21 if his issue was more with management or the players, Butler was candid with his response.
"Maybe a little bit of both," Butler said, via the Philadelphia Inquirer. "And it’s not a bad thing. I just look at it as the way that I came into the league is different than the way the league is now."
Despite the issues that arose, Butler acknowledged he doesn't share the same mindset as everyone else.
"I really grinded to get to where I am now," Butler added. "I see what the hard work, what the heart, what the time puts into it. I wish everybody can have the mentality that I have. I don’t care what it is. I just want to be the best."
The Sixers (28-16) are slated to host the Timberwolves (21-22) at 7 p.m. ET.
