There was heartbreak for Estudiantes and Venezia, who missed out on the Basketball Champions League round of 16 as four teams finished Group C level on points.

Dusan Sakota's three-pointer with 6.5 seconds remaining secured an 83-81 win for AEK over Bayreuth, while Michael Bramos' effort from beyond the arc gave Venezia a 92-91 victory against Estudiantes.

Those outcomes left all four level on 22 points, but AEK progressed by virtue of their 4-2 record against the other three sides.

Bayreuth and Estudiantes' head-to-head results both read 3-3 but it was the German outfit who advanced due to a superior points difference from their two meetings. Venezia, 2-4 in matches with the other three teams, were eliminated.

Strasbourg topped Group C as they beat last year's runners-up Banvit 83-60, completing a double over the Turkish side to give them first place despite being tied on 23 points.

In Group B, PAOK hammered Ventspils 80-59 to clinch their place in the play-offs. Ventspils' loss also ensured Neptunas Klaipeda went through despite losing 83-67 to defending champions Tenerife.

Ludwigsburg eased to an 86-61 win over Capo d'Orlando and finished equal with Tenerife on 26 points, the Spanish side topping the group having won their two encounters.

Elsewhere in Group B, Elan Chalon defeated Gaziantep 85-60 and Rosa Radom beat Petrol Olimpija 75-58 in Group C.
