Could Kawhi Leonard have landed in Philadelphia?

The Spurs were interested in dealing Leonard to the 76ers, but only if they got Ben Simmons or Joel Embiid in return, ESPN reported, citing unidentified league sources.

According to the sources, the Sixers were not willing to deal either young player, which essentially stalled the negotiations.

Instead, Philadelphia was willing to deal a package of Robert Covington, Dario Saric, and the Heat's unprotected 2021 pick, which didn't interest the Spurs.

San Antonio apparently wasn't interested in Markelle Fultz, either.

Leonard was dealt to the Raptors in exchange for DeMar Derozan, Jakob Poeltl, and a top-20 protected first-round pick.

Philadelphia already lost out to LeBron James and Rockets general manager Daryl Morey this month.
