The 76ers still are without a general manager.

The team attempted to hire Rockets GM Daryl Morey away, but was "rebuffed," according to Marc Stein of The New York Times.

Morey has spent the past 12 seasons with the Rockets and has been their general manager since 2007. While the Sixers have a roster of young talent, Morey has helped transform the Rockets into serious Western Conference contenders.

This past season, the Rockets were the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference and pushed the Warriors to a seven-game series in the conference finals before falling to the eventual 2018 NBA champions.

Philadelphia is looking for a new GM after it parted ways with Bryan Colangelo earlier this year.
