Do not expect the Baltimore Orioles to make a play for Toronto Blue Jays star Jose Bautista anytime soon.

Dan Duquette said that Baltimore fans do not want Bautista, and the Orioles general manager did not seem too impressed with the 36-year-old slugger either.

"We told [Bautista's] agent that we are not interested because our fans don't like him," Duquette said.

"Our fans don't like Jose Bautista, with good reason."

There have been a number of incidents between Bautista and Orioles players in recent seasons.

Reliever Darren O'Day has exchanged heated words with Bautista on multiple occasions, most recently in 2014 when he hit him with a pitch.

Outfielder Adam Jones has also taken umbrage at Bautista's exaggerated bat flip.

It appears fans have not forgotten and do not want to see Bautista don the black and orange.

The Orioles are in one of the toughest divisions in MLB, the American League (AL) East - made even stronger when the Boston Red Sox traded for Chris Sale earlier this week - so fans undoubtedly want upgrades.
