Braves starter Mike Soroka is headed back to the disabled list.
Atlanta placed the 20-year-old right hander on the DL with right shoulder inflammation, the team announced Friday. Soroka has tallied a 2-1 record with a 3.51 ERA so far this season.
Soroka, who was the No. 3 prospect in the Braves organization according to MLB Pipeline, made his MLB debut in early May against the Mets. He allowed one run and six hits while striking out five batters in six innings on the mound.
The 20-year-old made just two more starts before he was placed on the disabled list May 17 with shoulder discomfort.
Soroka returned in mid-June and started two more times before he returned to the DL Friday.
The Braves currently lead the National League East with a 43-30 record.
