Wajah lama bakal menghiasi dan memperkasakan skuad beregu lelaki apabila Persatuan Badminton Malaysia (BAM) mengumumkan pelantikan Rosman Razak.
Rosman merupakan antara individu yang bertanggungjawab meningkatkan profil skuad beregu wanita sebelum ini menerusi gandingan Vivian Hoo-Woon Khe Wei dan Amelia Alicia Anscely-Song Fei Choo.
Tetapi tawaran lebih lumayan memaksa Rosman dan bekas jurulatih perseorangan negara, Rashid Sidek, mengambil keputusan untuk bernaung di bawah kelab profesional Sports Affairs pada Mei 2015.
Meskipun jurulatih itu menolak tawaran untuk kekal bersama BAM sebelum ini, Pengarah Teknikal BAM, Morten Frost, tetap teruja dengan kembalinya Rosman yang akan memulakan tugas bermula 2 Januari 2017.
“Terdapat beberapa jurulatih tempatan mahu kembali bersama BAM, mereka menyedari ganjaran lumayan menanti jika dapat menghasilkan kejayaan di pentas tertinggi,” ujar Timbalan Presiden BAM, Datuk Seri Mohamad Norza Zakaria.
Di bawah Rosman, Vivian dan Khe Wei telah berjaya memenangi pingat emas Sukan Komanwel Glasgow, Scotland dan gangsa di Sukan Asia Incheon 2014.
Frost juga berpandangan tidak ada masalah buat Rosman untuk menawarkan impak sama kepada skuad beregu lelaki.
“Kami mempunyai ramai pemain badminton yang akan menyertai kejohanan di luar negara tetapi kami hanya mempunyai 11 jurulatih, jadi kami sedang berusaha untuk mendapatkan lebih ramai jurulatih untuk mengendalikan pemain.”
