Masalah kesihatan kembali menghantui perseorangan wanita negara, Goh Jin Wei, sekali gus mengundang kegusaran kem badminton Malaysia menjelang aksi suku akhir Piala Sudirman 2019.
Jin Wei kembali beraksi dalam pertemuan dengan India selepas dia terpaksa berehat selama enam minggu kerana masalah hamstring dan juga ketidakselesaan di bahagian perut.
Bagaimanapun, dia tidak beraksi cemerlang, tumpas straight set kepada Pusarla Sindhu, 12-21, 8-21 sehingga mengundang kritikan terhadap prestasinya.
Hakikatnya, Jin Wei dilaporkan menahan kesakitan di bahagian perut sejurus tamat perlawanan dan tinjauan sesi latihan skuad negara di dewan Pusat Latihan Guang Xi, Nanning hari ini menyaksikan juara remaja dunia 2018 itu lebih banyak duduk di tepi gelanggang.
"Jin Wei baru sahaja pulih daripada kecederaan dan dia masih lagi belum berada di tahap terbaik. Tetapi dia menampilkan komitmen untuk mempamerkan aksi terbaik," kata jurulatih perseorangan wanita negara, Datuk Tey Seu Bock.
Seu Bock masih memantau keadaan Jin Wei bersama bantuan daripada pegawai Institut Sukan Negara (ISN) sama ada dia akan diturunkan menjelang perlawanan suku akhir nanti.
Selain Jin Wei, Malaysia masih boleh bergantung harap kepada seorang lagi pemain, Soniia Cheah, yang mempamer aksi melawan ketika menentang China tempoh hari.
"Saya perlu melihat lawan yang kami perlu kami hadapi sebelum membuat perancangan. Buat masa ini, Soniia menampilkan permainan yang baik tetapi kami akan melihat undian terlebih dahulu," ujarnya.
