Selepas tiga pertemuan dengan perseorangan lelaki negara, Lee Zii Jia, pemain badminton nombor satu dunia, Kento Momota, menyifatkan pemain itu sebagai individu yang berupaya untuk meneruskan legasi Datuk Lee Chong Wei.
Bukan rahsia lagi apabila pemain terbaik dunia itu mengidolakan Chong Wei, yang mengucapkan selamat tinggal kepada sukan berkenaan pada 13 Jun lalu.
Momota bukan sahaja berpeluang untuk mencongak perhitungan dengan legenda Malaysia itu, malah
berupaya menidakkannya sebanyak dua kali dalam empat pertemuan di antara mereka.
Perseorangan Jepun itu kini bermaharajalela tanpa seorang lawan yang wajar diangkat sebagai seteru utama.
Selain menyifatkan Zii Jia layak dipandang sebagai tonggak utama Malaysia, Momota menegaskan
pemain itu sebagai prospek terbaik untuk menjadi pencabarnya satu hari nanti.
"Selepas persaraan Chong Wei, saya rasa Zii Jia adalah pemain terbaik yang dimiliki Malaysia.
"Dia boleh menjadi jaguh Malaysia.
"Pada masa akan datang, saya akan melihatnya sebagai pencabar," katanya.
