Misbun returns as BAM coach
After much speculation, it was announced today that Misbun Sidek has returned to the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM).

The Malaysian badminton legend's return was confirmed by BAM president Norza Zakaria in a press conference attended by Astro Arena.

Misbun, who previously left in 2010, was reappointed as men's singles head coach to improve the division's performance level, which has dropped in recent years.

"As you all know, Misbun understands what is required to be a top men's singles player," Norza said during the press conference.

"I also want to have a coach who has the respect of all players especially [Lee] Chong Wei [as] I want to create an ecosystem where everyone works together towards the goal [of winning the Thomas Cup]."

Misbun will be working together with Hendrawan, while Tey Seu Bock was transferred to the women's singles.

Besides that, Cheah Soon Kit was given the task of overseeing the men's doubles with assistance from Jeremy Gan and Rosman Razak, while Chin Ee Hui became the mixed doubles head coach and Wong Pei Tty remained with the women's doubles.

"I believe with Misbun and Cheah Soon Kit, it is definitely a good combination," he added.

The BAM also announced the appointments of Hoon Thien How and Teo Kok Siang as new coaches.
