Pemain badminton beregu wanita negara, Lee Meng Yean, berkongsi pandangan mengapa tahun 2018 begitu menyeksakan buatnya sambil tidak sabar menantikan kehadiran kempen pada tahun depan.
Secara keseluruhannya, 2018 menguji skuad beregu wanita yang kehilangan beberapa pemain berpengaruh akibat kecederaan sehingga ada yang bersara seperti Woon Khe Wei.
Meng Yean antara yang terlepas sebahagaian besar daripada kempen musim ini dan terpaksa bekerja keras untuk mengembalikan tahap fizikal dan kecergasan sebenar.
"2018 paling sukar buat saya kerana sejak awal tahun ini, saya ditimpa kecederaan lutut yang memaksa saya berehat sehingga empat bulan.
"Saya berhempas-pulas untuk mengembalikan tahap fizikal dan menjalani latihan yang lebih berat," katanya.
Paling terkilan sudah pasti melihat rakan gandingannya, Chow Mei Kuan, memenangi pingat emas dalam Sukan Komanwel Gold Coast bersama Vivian Hoo.
"Ya, saya akui tidak berasa selesa kerana sepatutnya saya yang beraksi dalam Sukan Komanwel sekiranya tidak ditimpa kecederaan.
"Tetapi, tahap mental saya perlu kuat untuk bangkit kerana sedar kalau saya berbuat demikian dan bersikap positif, saya boleh melakukannya," ujarnya lagi.
