Michael's Badminton Academy (MBA) Taman Megah, Malaysia's first privately owned Badminton centre, will be moving its operations later this month, after serving a generation of players in Petaling Jaya.
Opening its doors in February 2002, MBA Taman Megah inspired the young and old to pick up a racquet and play the game for so many reasons including to improve on ones game, to bond with friends and to stay healthy.
MBA founder Michael Lee is glad that his passion for the sport has rubbed off on so many despite the negative feedback from naysayers when Taman Megah was launched.
"It was the first of its kind and there were many who said the concept would not work. But here we are 15 years on, looking back at successes and milestones including two other academies in Bukit Puchong and Port Dickson.
"That is the affect of passion, it spreads and we can proudly say that we have helped nurture this spirit for the sport in Malaysia.
"We are also very happy and humbled that we have touched so many and we urge everyone who has played here and has fond memories of Taman Megah, to come on down and have a game to re-live those moments one more time with friends and family," said Michael.
Taman Megah was also the venue where the acclaimed flagship International MBA Championships, now in its ninth year with participants coming from over 17 countries, and the Muhibbah Badminton Championship was launched.
Apart from that, their holiday camps that started with local only enrollment has grown in stature, with students from Europe, Africa and Asia coming in annually.
In conjunction with the final day of operations on Oct 31, MBA will be hosting a pot luck party on Oct 28 and all are invited to the event. All interested may RSVP via SMS/WhatsApp/Line/WeChat +60129698101.
