Malaysia ended their 2018 Uber Cup campaign on a high note as they beat France 5-0 on Wednesday.

With them already out of contention following defeats to Indonesia and China, the pressure was off for the Malaysian ladies.

Soniia Cheah, who started Malaysia's previous two Group D matches, was rested, allowing Goh Jin Wei to lead the team.

The 18-year-old had no trouble beating the slightly older Yaelle Hoyaux 21-7, 21-0.

The other two singles matches saw Lee Ying Ying and S. Kisona fall behind in the first sets against Marie Batomene and Katia Normand respectively, but both rallied back to win their ties.

For doubles matches, Malaysia once again opted to go with scratch pairs, with Chow Mei Kuan teaming up Lee Meng Yean and Vivian Hoo taking the court alongside Tee Jing Yi — their fourth and fifth different pairing in six doubles matches.

The former defeated Emilie Lefel and Anne Tran 21-14, 21-17, while the latter had more difficulty to overcome Delphine Delrue and Lea Palermo, winning 21-13, 15-21, 28-26.
