Anak kepada legenda badminton negara, Datuk Misbun Sidek, Misbun Ramdan dan Misbun Shawal, kembali mewarnai kancah badminton tempatan apabila menyertai Kejohanan Kebangsaan Celcom Axiata yang sedang berlangsung di Dewan Seri Perdana, Kolej Sains Bersekutu Sultan Azlan Shah, Ulu Kinta, Perak.
Dalam perlawanan kelayakan pusingan pertama sebentar tadi, pasangan naugan kelab Nusa Mahsuri yang mewakili Selangor itu mudah menewaskan pasangan Sabah, Adryan Lau Abdullah dan Yap Qar Siong 21-10, 21-11.
Jurulatih Nusa Mahsuri, Salim Sameon, berkata, "Ini sebagai persediaan awal kedua-dua pemain ini setelah lama menghilang akibat kecederaan.
"Mereka perlu menyertai banyak kejohanan supaya kembali di tahap terbaik. Sebagai contoh kejohanan di sini, Misbun Ramdan turut menyertai acara perseorangan. Bukan apa, mahukan dia lebih pendedahan".
Untuk rekod, Misbun Ramdan pernah dinobat sebagai juara kebangsaan pada 2012 dan memenangi enam kejuaraan Eropah sepanjang tahun 2013 hingga 2014 sebelum dilanda kecederaan 'achilles tendon', menyebabkannya sepi daripada dunia badminton hampir dua tahun.
