Pemain perseorangan lelaki negara, Soong Joo Ven, sedia menyahut cabaran jurulatih, Datuk Misbun Sidek dan Hendrawan, agar pemain sedia ada tidak lagi sekadar goyang kaki menanti kepulangan Datuk Lee Chong Wei, sebaliknya perlu terus berusaha memperbaiki pencapaian dengan segera.
Joo Ven tidak menolak bukan mudah untuk seseorang pemain berada di tahap terbaik sepertimana yang telah dilakukan Chong Wei.
Namun, melihat kepada situasi itu, dia sendiri percaya dengan percaturan Misbun dan Hendrawan dalam membentuk pemain berkualiti setaraf jaguh nombor satu negara itu andai kata dia sudah tidak mampu beraksi lagi.
Malah, ketiadaan Chong Wei yang menghidap kanser hidung sememangnya memberikan kesan kepada corak latihan kem perseorangan ketika ini dan mereka seharusnya membiasakan diri dengan situasi sedemikian.
"Kami perlu cuba menampilkan persembahan yang sama. Ketika ini, Chong Wei tidak bersama pasukan kerana menjalani proses rawatan dan kami barisan pemain perseorangan perlu bersedia menghadapi kejohanan akan datang," kata Joo Ven.
Pemain berusia 23 tahun itu sedang mempersiapkan diri untuk Terbuka Belanda bulan depan dalam misi untuk mara ke suku akhir selain ingin memastikan pemburuan ranking 50 terbaik dunia berjaya dicapai.
"Saya tidak sabar untuk beraksi dalam kejohanan akan datang kerana dalam penyertaan kejohanan terdahulu, saya tidak dapat turun ke gelanggang kerana mengalami keracunan makanan. Saya tidak sabar untuk kembali beraksi dan mempamerkan kebolehan saya," tambahnya.
