Berbaki satu lagi kejohanan, iaitu Terbuka Macau sebelum kalendar 2016 melabuhkan tirai, pemain perseorangan wanita negara, Tee Jing Yi, nyata masih bergelut untuk kembali ke prestasi terbaiknya.
Hampir setahun Jing Yi mengalami kemarau kejuaraan selepas kali terakhir mencapainya ketika muncul naib juara Kejohanan Cabaran Antarabangsa di Indonesia.
Pelbagai faktor menjadi punca prestasi pemain berusia 25 tahun itu merudum, antaranya adalah kelemahan mental ketika menghadapi lawan dalam gelanggang dan faktor kecederaan.
"Prestasi saya pada tahun ini tidak berapa konsisten, ini membuatkan saya kecewa.
"Saya harap dapat menebusnya dalam kejohanan terakhir nanti," ujarnya.
Jing Yi kelihatan bergelut untuk mengembalikan kemuncak prestasinya.
Seakan-akan pasrah dengan keadaanya, Jing Yi yang diletakkan selaku pilihan kelima kejohanan hanya meramalkan untuk mara ke suku akhir kerana agak sukar mencipta kejutan di Macau.
Antara pemain utama yang turut beraksi adalah Saina Nehwal dan Pusarla V. Sindhu dari India selain pemain remaja yang sedang meningkat naik dari China, Chen Yufei.
"Lawan yang bakal saya hadapi dalam kejohanan itu juga agak mencabar. Saya harap dapat berlatih untuk mengekalkan tahap konsistensi prestasi saya."
