Jurulatih beregu negara, Jeremy Gan, mahu Tan Wee Kiong dan Goh V Shem segera bangkit mencari prestasi terbaik sebelum saingan Siri Super Premier di Denmark dan Perancis, bulan depan.
Program latihan skuad negara, terutama membabitkan Olimpian, sedikit terjejas susulan kempen Olimpik Rio, tidak terkecuali Wee Kiong dan V Shem.
Penyingkiran dalam pusingan kedua Siri Super Terbuka Jepun minggu lalu, mencerminkan keperluan beregu nombor satu Malaysia ini untuk kembali menemui momentum dalam baki saingan musim 2016.
Siri Super Terbuka Korea Selatan juga akan menjadi satu lagi medan buat pasangan ini untuk terus memanas badan.
“Tiada masalah kecederaan, cuma persediaan untuk pertandingan sedikit kekurangan dan ia telah menjejaskan tumpuan pemain ketika di gelanggang,” kata Jeremy.
Sasaran untuk gandingan itu sebelum penghujung tahun ini adalah satu kejuaraan Siri Super di samping memperbaiki kedudukan ranking untuk ke kelompok lima terbaik.
Kerana itu, penting buat Week Kiong-V Shem untuk cuba meraih satu gelaran di Eropah bulan depan, sama ada di Denmark atau Perancis.
“Pada pendapat saya, saingan acara beregu lelaki kelihatan agak terbuka, tumpuan merupakan perkara yang penting untuk memenangi gelaran.”
