Bekas jaguh badminton negara, Roslin Hashim, meminta mana-mana pihak agar jangan menghalang Datuk Lee Chong Wei untuk bersara kerana apa yang lebih penting ialah kembali pulih berbanding memikirkan tugas mewakili Malaysia.
Roslin amat menghormati semangat Chong Wei untuk kembali ke gelanggang walaupun mengalami kanser hidung tahap awal.
Namun persoalan terbesar ketika ini, mampukah dia terus mewakili negara, apatah lagi usia sudah mencapai 35 tahun?
"Masalah yang dihadapi Chong Wei mampu meragut nyawanya. Bagi saingan yang kompetitif, agak sukar buat Chong Wei untuk terus beraksi," kata Roslin.
Pandangan sama disuarakan legenda badminton negara, Datuk James Selvaraj, yang menegaskan fokus utama Chong Wei adalah rawatannya bagi pulih sepenuhnya.
"Setiap atlet mahu mengelak daripada mengalami kecederaan. Siapa yang menyangka Chong Wei mengalami masalah kesihatan ini dan seorang yang tidak bernasib baik," kata James.
"Kita hanya boleh memberikan sokongan dan berharap dia pulih sepenuhnya."
