China have bulldozed the competition in Pattaya, Thailand, with the likes of Deng Wei breaking world records en route to defending her title in the 64kg category and Lyu Xiaojun becoming a five-time world champion in the 81kg category. At the time of writing, they have secured seven overall gold medals in 10 events and are well ahead of the chasing pack on the medal standings.

Serie A: Inter Milan vs Lazio

Lazio travel to San Siro in hope of repeating last season's away victory and, at the same time, ending Inter's perfect start to the new season — Antonio Conte's side have four wins from four including a morale-boosting 2-0 win over AC Milan last week.

Men's European Volleyball Championship (SF-F)

The last continental tournament before next month's FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup is set to wrap up this week, with the likes of France, Serbia, Poland and defending champions Russia being the favourites to reach the final in Paris.

BWF World Tour: Korean Open (QF-F)

With Incheon hosting the Korean Open for the first time since 2005, taking the mandate from Seoul, Lee Zii Jia and his Malaysian compatriots are surely hoping the change of scenery can also change their fortune. Since the tournament's inception in 1991, only Lee Chong Wei has ever found success in South Korea, winning three times in the men's singles event.

IAAF World Athletics Championships

Over 2000 athletes from 210 teams, including an Athlete Refugee Team, are set to take part in the 17th edition of the IAAF World Athletics Championships. For Malaysians, all hopes are on national high jump athlete Lee Hup Wei, who is the only Malaysian representative in Doha after being selected as the country's only wild card entry.

FIVB Women's World Cup: China vs Serbia

The top two nations in women's volleyball clash in Osaka, albeit in an anticlimactic manner as Serbia have struggled throughout the tournament while China, at the time of writing, have been cruising from day one and are looking strong to retain their world title.

Super Lig: Galatasaray vs Fenerbahce
