Pemain perseorangan lelaki, Chong Wei Feng, yang beraksi dengan Puchong United dalam saingan Purple League, mengakui masih kekok untuk mengikuti format baru pertandingan yang diperkenalkan pihak penganjur.
Berdasarkan format terbaru itu, setiap perlawanan perlu dihabiskan dalam tempoh 30 minit tanpa mengambil kira kedudukan semasa pada aksi set.
Itu perlu dilalui Wei Feng apabila tewas dalam set ketiga ketika kedudukan permainan 7-9 berpihak kepada Wei Nan yang mewakili Bandar Utama Dragons.
Namun, dia terpaksa akur dengan kekalahan berkenaan sambil menyifatkan ia sebagai satu pengalaman berguna bagi menghadapi aksi akan datang.
“Format baru ini sedikit mengelirukan saya kerana perlawanan masih belum tamat tetapi kerana kami harus menamatkan perlawanan dalam tempoh 30 minit.
"Dalam perlawanan yang lepas, ketika saya mendahului perlawanan 7-5, tetapi tempoh masa yang hanya tinggal dua minit, ia memberikan tekanan kepada saya,” kata Wei Feng.
Pendapat sama turut dikongsi pemain beregu BU Dragons, Mak Hee Chun, walaupun dia berjaya memberikan tiga mata kepada pasukannya.
Bergandingan bersama Chooi Kah Ming, mereka berdua mudah mengetepikan beregu muda, Low Juan Shen-Ong Yew Sin, dalam tempoh 23 minit.
“Ketika saya memulakan perlawanan, saya terlupa dengan format baru perlawanan tetapi selepas memasuki set kedua perlawanan, ketika mendahului perlawanan, jurulatih meminta kami untuk memperlahankan permainan,” jelas Hee Chun.
