Menteri Belia dan Sukan, Khairy Jamaluddin, berlapang dada menerima hasrat pemain badminton nombor satu dunia, Datuk Lee Chong Wei, untuk bersara selepas Kejohanan Dunia di Glasgow, Ogos nanti.
Selain Chong Wei, Khairy juga akan memberi sokongan kepada ratu skuasy negara, Datuk Nicol David, jika dia mahu terus beraksi.
"Baru-baru ini, Nicol ada berjumpa dengan saya. Dia kata dia mahu bermain dalam tempoh empat hingga lima tahun lagi.
"Kami akan memberi segala sokongan yang diperlukan agar fizikalnya dapat meneruskan aksi selama empat hingga lima tahun lagi.
"Saya juga katakan perkara yang sama kepada Chong Wei. Kalau dia mahu beraksi dalam Sukan Olimpik seterusnya, dia boleh mencubanya.
"Kita akan memberikan sokongan kepadanya.
"Tetapi ini adalah keputusan mereka," katanya.
