Lee Chong Wei recorded a spectacular win over China's Shi Yuqi to reach the Japan Open final on Saturday.

Despite being down 4-11 against the second-seeded shuttler at one point in the first set, he rallied back to win 21-19.

The win seemingly boosted his confidence as he sealed the semi-final encounter with a 21-8 blowout in the second set, which was his biggest single set win since beating Japan's Yu Igarashi 21-5 in the 2017 Sudiman Cup in May.

He will now look to defend his title and win it for the seventh time in his illustrious career on Sunday against either world champion Viktor Axelsen or first-seeded Son Wan-ho, who will play each other later today.
