Saga perang dingin di antara pemain perseorangan negara, Datuk Lee Chong Wei, dan Pengarah Teknikal Persatuan Badminton Malaysia (BAM), Morten Frost, berterusan.
Chong Wei tidak berselindung apabila menegaskan tidak ada jalan untuk hubungan dia dan Frost kembali pulih seperti dahulu.
Jaguh badminton itu, bagaimananpun, tetap dengan pendirian bersedia meneruskan kerjaya sebagai pemain profesional selagi tidak ada kata putus daripada BAM.
"Mungkin sukar (untuk memperbaiki hubungan dengan Frost). Tidak pernah lagi ada jurulatih yang membuat saya seperti ini," kata Chong Wei.
"Sudah 18 tahun saya bersama BAM, saya tidak minta apa-apa daripada BAM. Siapa jurulatih yang diberikan saya ikut sahaja. Saya tidak pernah kata tidak. Siapa jurulatih BAM berikan, saya terima.
"Saya tidak tahu dia (Frost) mahu apa. Mungkin dia tidak suka dengan saya, saya tidak tahu. Di depan dia baik dengan saya tetapi di belakang dia buat banyak benda. Saya tahu tetapi tiada masalah," katanya.
Buat tempoh jangka masa pendek Chong Wei lebih fokus untuk pulih sepenuhnya daripada kecederaan lutut kiri dengan harapan untuk tetap beraksi dalam Seluruh England di Barclaycard Arena, Birmingham, 7-12 Mac ini.
"Semua orang tahu tidak lama lagi saya akan menamatkan kerjaya saya," katanya. "Saya akan cuba yang terbaik dalam kejohanan itu dan kini saya hanya ada dua minggu lebih untuk menghadapinya.
"Saya cuba turun ke gelanggang (berlatih) beberapa hari ini tetapi saya masih sakit,"
Beliau mengalami kecederaan di bahagian lutut ketika menjalani latihan di Akademi Badminton Malaysia, Bukit Kiara, 4 Februari lalu.
