Aksi akhir menyaksikan anak buah Tan Bin Shin longlai tanpa beberapa tonggak seperti Goh Jin Wei yang kini menyahut panggilan negara.
BU Dragons mudah dijinakkan dalam aksi perseorangan lelaki, apabila Loo Bing Kun tewas straight set kepada Tan Jia Wei 4-11, 4-11, 4-11.
Skrip sama terjadi kepada perseorangan wanita BU Dragons apabila K. Letshana tewas straight set juga kepada pemain Ampang Jaya, Wang Zhi Yi, 7-11,5-11, 9-11.
Pasangan beregu lelaki BU Dragons cuba meghadirkan tentangan, namun ia masih belum cukup untuk menghalang Ampang Jaya meraih kejuaraan mereka apabila pasangan Tan Kok Xian dan Tang Xin menewaskan Leong Jun Kai dan Owen Ting 10-11, 11-9, 11-4, 10-11, 11-8.
“Ini merupakan kali pertama kami memenangi gelaran Purple League, ini merupakan satu pencapaian yang amat memuaskan,” kata jurulatih Ampang Jaya, Ho Khek Mong.
“Banyak pemain kami tidak dapat beraksi kerana menyertai Kejohanan Remaja Dunia, purata umur pemain adalah dalam lingkungan 16 tahun,” ujar pengendali BU Dragons, Huan Won Han.
Sebagai juara, Ampang Jaya meraih wang kemenangan sebanyak RM25,000 manakala BU Dragons pula meraih RM15,000 sebagai naib juara.
Penentuan tempat ketiga dan keempat menyaksikan Petaling BC unggul menewaskan Kepong BC dengan keputusan aggregat 10-9.
