FINA World Aquatics Championship (Swimming)


Schedule: July 21st - 28th

Following several strong performances by Malaysian divers last week, it is time for their swimming counterparts to shine in Gwanju, South Korea. Welson Sim, Phee Jinq En and the rest of the Malaysian swimming contingent need to be at their very best to take on the likes of Sun Yang, Mack Horton and Katie Ledecky, especially with Olympic qualification berths up for grabs.
 

BWF Japanese Open (Round of 16 to Finals)


Schedule: July 25th - 28th
Channel: Astro Supersport 4 (CH817 & CH836)
After a disappointing Indonesian Open outing, crashing out in the second round, Kento Momota is surely looking to make amends at his home tournament. Same goes for Japanese mixed doubles pair Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino, who did not make it past the first round in Jakarta. Meanwhile, Japan are looking strong in other events, with Akane Yamaguchi (women's singles) and Yuki Fukushima-Sayaka Hirota (women's doubles) taking home the Indonesian crowns.
 

Bangladesh Tour of Sri Lanka


Schedule: July 26th - 31st

After failing to play against each other at the 2019 Cricket World Cup due to poor weather, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka finally get to face off in three ODIs at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. However, the Tigers have suffered an early blow ahead of the series following withdrawals of captain Mashrafe Mortaza and Mohammad Saifuddin due to injuries.
 

MPFL: KL City vs Kuala Lumpur


Schedule: Friday, July 26th @ 7:45pm
Channel: Astro Arena (CH801 & CH802)
Local pride is at stake in the Malaysia Premier Futsal League this week with the Kuala Lumpur derby taking place at the Panasonic Shah Alam Sports Complex. Ahead of the encounter, both teams have not had the best of seasons, occupying the bottom two spots on the league table, as Kuala Lumpur have managed a win so far, while KL City are still looking for the first victory.
 

ICC: Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid


Schedule: Saturday, July 27th @ 7:30am

Arguably the most highly anticipated match of the 2019 International Champions Cup, the two Madrid sides meet at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Despite being a friendly match, it should provide glimpses of what to expect from the Madrid derby in the new LaLiga season.
 

Rugby Championship: New Zealand vs South Africa


Schedule: Saturday, July 27th @ 5:45pm
Channel: Setanta Sports HD (CH839)
It is always going to be a competitive affair when New Zealand take on South Africa, as the All Blacks' all-time lowest win percentage (59.79%) is against the Springboks. With both teams winning their respective games in the first round, this upcoming showdown could very well determine the 2019 Rugby Championship winners.
 

UFC 240: Holloway vs Edgar


Schedule: Sunday, July 28th @ 10:00am

After almost two years, an UFC Featherweight Championship bout between defending champion Max Holloway and former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar is finally taking place this weekend. They were previously scheduled to fight at first UFC 218 and then UFC 222, but both times saw either pull out due to injuries.
 

F1: German Grand Prix


Schedule: Sunday, July 28th @ 8:00pm

Last year saw home favourite Sebastian Vettel crash out at Hockenheim and allow Lewis Hamilton to take the chequered flag and eventually the momentum to win the F1 world title. Will the fortune be in favour of the Ferrari star, who has struggled all season long, this time?
 

Tour de France: Final Stage


Schedule: Sunday, July 28th @ 11:55pm
Channel: Eurosport (CH814 & CH842)
At the time of writing, French cyclist Julian Alaphilippe is wearing the yellow jersey on the second and final rest day, with last year's winner Geraint Thomas and Steven Kruijswijk trailing closely behind him. Meanwhile, fellow Frenchman Thibaut Pinot has surged into contention, making it an exciting final stretch of the tour with six stages remaining.
 

Liverpool vs Napoli

After starting their preseason with wins over lower English league sides Tranmere Rovers and Bradford City, Jurgen Klopp's men have lost 3-2 to Borussia Dortmund and 2-1 to Sevilla.
