Malaysian skateboard athlete Christina Lai Grace injured herself in a warm-up session before the women's park final of the 2018 Asian Games on Wednesday.

The 13-year-old athlete fell while warming up with five other athletes and reportedly injured her hip at the Skateboard Stadium in the Jakabaring Sports City.

The Kuala Lumpur-born athlete was examined on the spot by medics and stretchered out to a medical room at the venue for further examination before being taken in an ambulance to the hospital.

Malaysian deputy chef-de-mission Dr S. S. Cheema, who examined Lai before she departed for the hospital, said he felt that her injury was not serious but added that it could only be ascertained after X-ray and MRI scans.

In her absence in the women's park final, Japan took home gold and silver medals through Sakura Yosozumi and Kaya Isa, and Zhang Xin bagged bronze for bronze.

Meanwhile, in the women's street final, Malaysian skateboarder Fatin Syahirah Roszizi finished last.
