Another team is out of the running for Joe Mixon.
According to the Boston Herald, an unidentified source confirmed the Patriots "will not even consider" selecting the former Oklahoma running back at the upcoming NFL Draft.
New England joins Miami after it was reported Monday the Dolphins have a “zero percent chance" of drafting the controversial rusher.
Mixon, who was seen in a video released last December striking a woman in the face during an altercation in 2014, has scared off a lot of teams due to his off-field troubles. Still, his undeniable talent has held the attention of a number of teams that include the Lions, Bengals, Saints and Browns.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid spoke from experience on Tuesday and suggested teams interested in Mixon "do their homework" before deciding to draft Mixon. Kansas City took a chance on Tyreek Hill last year despite the wide receiver pleading guilty to felony domestic violence and battery, and he responded with a Pro Bowl selection.
Mixon, 20, averaged 6.8 yards per carry on 110 carries for the Sooners last season. He wasn't allowed to participate in the NFL Combine, but spoke with 24 teams during Oklahoma's pro day earlier this month.
