Johnny Manziel had some words of advice for Donald Trump, but the free-agent quarterback swiftly deleted his Twitter account soon after that attempt at imparting some wisdom.
Manziel, whose NFL career has been marred by a series of off-field issues, was released by the Cleveland Browns in March last year.
Despite his own personal problems, Manziel seemed more concerned with the social media activity of the new president of the United States, urging him not to respond to criticism on Twitter.
Manziel posted: "Yo @POTUS even I know to stay away from the notifications section on twitter. Shit will drive you crazy, lead the country and let them hate.
"Control what you can control and let the rest fall by the wayside."
Trump will be unable to respond, though, with Manziel seemingly quickly deciding he has had enough of Twitter.
