Jaguars owner Shad Khan wants NFL to play Super Bowl at Wembley Stadium

Jaguars owner Shad Khan wants the NFL to consider playing a Super Bowl in England.

Khan, who has made a bid to purchase Wembley Stadium in London, said in an interview with the BBC that he wants the facility to provide a “world-class venue” that could host some of the biggest sporting events.

"Wembley is a great stadium, and you want to get it configured to hold Super Bowl and World Cup finals," Khan said.

Khan, however, said it was premature to discuss playing a Super Bowl in London. He also said that he would look into adding a roof to the stadium in order to increase its usage.

Khan submitted his bid, worth a reported $1.1 billion, last week to acquire Wembley Stadium. He purchased the Jaguars in December 2011.

The Jaguars have played a game at Wembley the past five seasons and are scheduled to face the Eagles there Oct. 28.
